Movement

My main agenda in regards to the movement is to unlearn conscious and unconscious thoughts and behaviors of the society we live in that is based on supremacy of power. I would advise anyone who doesn’t do this (because you aren’t aware, or you are and don’t care) that eventually, if this consciousness doesn’t end, that you will inevitably suffer. Why? Because there will be generations of children, your children, or young people you might rely on who will do this. And the last thing I want to hear (20-30 years from now) is you wish you did better. This applies to everyone from family, friends, cops, and politicians. I’m really tired of folks (including myself) often feeling limited to fully express themselves due to thoughts and behaviors that stem from this stupid idea of power, race, and supremacy. Get off your high horse. The earth is God, the Universe is God, we as a collective, are God. And it can be taken away at any moment. A part of me knows that if I want to live in a society without these limitations - I have to live as if those limitations don’t exist. I need to (in a very fantastic and radical way) live my imagination. Only then can it come true. I vow to work on that intention.

Freedom Tunnel

Freedom Tunnel entrance

On 3/24/20 my room mates and I walked into the Freedom Tunnel in New York City. It’s named after graffiti artist Chris “Freedom” Page. Weirdly enough there is a Freedom Pl. at the south end of the tunnel. The name Freedom Tunnel might also play into the people who use to live there. They are known as the Mole People.

Open area. Living area?

The tunnel runs from 124th - 72nd st. Approx 2.6 miles! We had masks, flashlights, and boots. A train runs approx. every hour. It’s suggested to face in the direction the train is going due to dust. Here’s how to enter on 124th

It was a blessing to learn about graffiti artist Hugo Gyrl (@HugoGyrl) who created this Corona 2020 tag. Then to find another tag of theirs pretty deep in the tunnel.

Of course I can’t forget about my man SNOEMAN (@thesnoeman) whose tags I’ve seen around NYC for quite awhile now.

Getting out was a challenge. I think due to the lock down, AMTRAK gates at the end were closed. We had to climb over a structure, move wooden panels across the fence onto a bulldozer, crawl across, climb down, and exit casually through a basketball court. I don’t have photos of that; too busy trying to get out. I would definitely go into the tunnels again.

Goals

I’ve recently come across friends and family who want to pursue creative endeavors. i.e. a photo shoot of their creative brilliance. I’ve realized that these endeavors (and processes that’ll lead to execution) need to spring forth to make them happen. I have much experience sitting on my own creative pursuits to know that they will dissipate if action isn’t taken. So, I’ve been on the call.
